Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to develop a solution for an efficient ordering and distribution system of lunch boxes and food bags for people in quarantine. The project met two major societal challenges during the pandemic: (1) Ensuring that people in quarantine have secure access to nutritious and sustainable food and (2) the survival of restaurants.
Expected long term effects
The developed solution is based on restaurants being connected to the same last-mile distribution solution that e-commerce uses for groceries and grocery bags. In the project, we have investigated and produced recommendations for restaurants on how they can succeed by working with offering, marketing, ordering and logistics.
Approach and implementation
The solution has been developed through interviews, meetings, workshops and, above all, tests with the restaurants Nordish Market in Gothenburg, Restauranglabbet and Paul Taylors Lanthandel in Stockholm and Gotthards Krog in Umeå. To help restaurants with that, we summarised in a document the solution and tips on how to get started with offering, marketing, ordering and logistics in a fast and good way.
