Important results from the project

The project for sustainable municipal development was seen as part of the work to realize Lerum´s vision of becoming Sweden´s leading environmental municipality with the key words sustainability, influence and creativity. Based on the vision´s key words, the project has created ways to take advantage of creativity by creating a system in how the municipality utilizes ideas and contribute to increased influence. The project had a clear gender equality perspective because innovation can be a way to increase gender equality and gender equality can be used to increase innovation.

Expected long term effects

The project´s results are that there are tried and tested structures for taking care of and developing ideas from employees and municipal residents. Competence has been developed around methods for working challenge-driven with innovation. Innovation and the ability to change have been established through cooperation between the project and the municipal management as an important strategic development area.

Approach and implementation

The project has made working methods to work challenge-driven as the main track with innovation of services and processes. During the project, the process has been tested and developed from idea development to challenge-driven innovation. Through training and networking activities, support was provided to work with reinforcing creativity and a process is described to support idea bearers and managers. Through the municipality´s customer center, an approach has been established that captures needs and involves residents.
