Venture A new recipe for the food system - build-up phase
Call A new recipe for the food system - building innovation platforms for a sustainable food system

Purpose and goal

Innovationsplattform Stad, (IPS), uses the city as a hub for transformation into a sustainable, resilient food system. The mission is that within a decade a third of the food consumed in Malmö is produced, processed, and sold in the city. With the city as a starting point and engine of change, all three dimensions of sustainability, environmental, social, and economic sustainability are affected. The core team consists of 3 actors: Malmö Stad is the initiator. EY Doberman is the project manager who leads the change process. Innovation Skåne, (ISAB), is the coordinator.

Expected effects and result

The result for stage 1 is completed: mapping, mobilization, communication prototype/test. The effects of stage 1 are visible when Innovationsplattform Stad is established and continues the work in stage 2 with more extensive tests and experiments that are spread nationally and internationally in the food system.

Planned approach and implementation

The work is carried out in four iterative work streams: 1.MAPPING: Gather insights through interviews with experts, citizens, pioneers about the current and desired future food system. 2.MOBILIZE: Engage key stakeholders with initial identification, workshops and meetings 3.COMMUNICATE: Brand, key message and portal for collaboration/dissemination are developed. 4.TESTING: Quickly turning ideas into testable solutions for learning and engagement. Identification of possible prototypes
