Important results from the project
The aim of the project is to develop an innovation platform that will promote innovation in social, ecological and economic sustainability. The overall objective of the project is the cooperation structures established in the platform will lead to new ideas and innovations that address societal challenges. The project consists of different work packages, each work package has specific goals in the Platform related to sustainable urban development. The Project report shows these goals together with an explanaition of the goal achievment.
Expected long term effects
An innovation platform has been established in Borås, with the joint leadership of the project partners. In the innovation platform has a living lab developed at Norrby, where several cooperation activities organized with the aim to find new ideas for addressing societal challenges in Norrby. A workshop methodology has been developed to involve the municipality, industry, research and citizens. The research and development has been conducted under the Innovation platform has resulted in new knowledge, which has spread locally, nationally and internationally.
Approach and implementation
Boras´ definition of an innovation platform is a platform for research, project development and learning that will promote innovation in sustainable urban development. The platform is based on the neighborhood Norrby in Borås and the conditions prevailing there, to test new solutions. In Norrby Living Lab, several collaborative activities have been arranged together with research, industry, municipality and residents, in order to develop new and existing projects. A prerequisite is that projects involve the residents in Norrby and take into account their needs and challenges.
