Purpose and goal

The advances in technological development and the increasing trends for digitization has set the traditional retail sector in a situation where it is facing major challenges and the business models in traditional retail are nowadays significantly questioned by new companies that compete with online retail. In order to facilitate and inject a response to this transformation, the project aim to design and develop digital business model method for retail firms that enables ecosystem orchestration and implementation of innovative digital business models.

Expected effects and result

First, dissemination of the method to partner companies will include reports which describes how companies can overcome barriers and opportunities for digital business models. Second, workshops with our industry reference actors will be executed to extend the dissemination of project results. Third, publications for leading academic journals. Fourth, a publication to a practitioner outlet. Fifth, we intent to hold a webinar for ecosystem partners companies. Finally, at the end of the project, we will hold one large public seminar for all the interested stakeholders.

Customized industry reports about barriers and opportunities to digital business models in retail industry. Reporting the findings to the ecosystem actors through a short report or a webinar. Documentation of the digital business model method. Academic papers about the method for dissemination to both academics and practitioners Academic publications, Practice oriented publication. Workshops with partner companies, to share the results with top executive management. Workshops with reference group companies, Reports and documentation of the tool, One public seminar.
