Important results from the project

Innovator Skane have evolved to an operation skilled to collect, develop and commercialize the ideas from employees in Region Skane. We co-operate with Region Skanes sourcing department in the area of innovation but we do not yet have the responsibility for innovation sourcing. We have a good co-operation with ALMI and Lunds University as well as a very close co-operation with Teknopol. We have a relation to a large part of regional service suppliers and access to a network of possible partners for our Innovations.

Expected long term effects

We did set high targets for number of submitted ideas, projects to develop and to commercialize. We received more ideas than targeted but developed and commercialized fewer than targeted. This was partly intentional due to change of scope and capital but we have also been more selected in our evaluation process. We have increased the understanding of innovation by having care-personal work part-time for us and thereby to a larger degree integrated our work in the daily care. We have a new modern webpage, regularly post information on the intranet and have been present in media.

Approach and implementation

Innovator Skane take ownership of an idea and in case of successful commercialization share the profit with the inventor. The advantage of this approach is that more ideas can be developed and the disadvantage that intrinsic drive of the inventor can be difficult to fully utilize. This problem, in combination with the clear correlation between marketing and number of ideas submitted is addressed by having care-personal working part-time for us. We started our period with high focus on technology and later shifted to balance this with increased focus on need, market and sales.
