Innovation in governmental authorities

Important results from the project

Purpose: 1) develop the governmental authorities´ own ability to strengthen their innovation work, which includes both step-by-step improvements and greater radical changes. 2) develop models to be able to continuously support authorities in their innovation work Objectives: implementation of learning networks, definition of model for authorities´ innovation ability, testing and evaluation of the model, exchange of experience between authorities, learning / knowledge increase and validation of previous research results.

Expected long term effects

Very good results where six governmental authorities actively developed routines, functions and tools to organize and lead their innovation work. The authorities produced both new innovation processes and actual innovations during the network time. Great knowledge development and good outcome of validation of previous research, model further developed and refined.

Approach and implementation

Very large commitment among all players and consistently high participation. Good collaboration between researchers and consultants where former research results are used successfully and with high utilization and consequently high impact. The project was delayed somewhat at the end, but this is due to the fact that additional distribution activities were added and the reporting time was partly due to an internal process at Vinnova.
