Important results from the project
The project Innovation Hub Östergötland has had the following main objectives: 1) More ideas from the health services are used, developed and commercialized 2) Facilitate the introduction of innovations in health care by serving as a contact node for companies Both objectives have been achieved by the project. During the project it has become clear that the innovation process is time consuming and requires great commitment from all parties. It also takes a long time to establish a contact node and make it known in and outside of the organization
Expected long term effects
During the project, more than 2,000 employees yearly have recived personal information about the opportunities of the Innovation Hub. In addition, written information has been sent to all employees. This has resulted in an increased flow of ideas and the project handled 58 ideas in 2013. The information work by the Project team has largely contributed to the innovative climate in the organization. Also the knowledge of the importance of innovation has increased, both among employees, managers and in the political organisation.
Approach and implementation
The approach of the project has been to work at multiple levels of the organization. In terms of information to employees and managers, this has been done by employees with practical experience in healthcare. This has contributed to a high credibility for the projectmembers. Advice to innovators has been given in conjunction with Almi. This has made it possible to manage both innovation issues and health-related issues during the process. Meanwhile, work has been done on a strategic level to ensure a broad understanding of the importance of innovation in the organization
