Important results from the project
The purpose is to identify gender-driven needs of users, health professionals, family members about how innovation takes place around equipment designed for people diagnosed with mild dementia regarding use of the kitchen and technical aids when they cook. Fulfillment: The needs users express the kitchens are not functional when starting having problems that are age-related, primarily for women, cabinet is too high/low, things are too heavy. Hjälpmedelscentralen describes the disarmament of assistive technology for people with dementia, this will be the users themselves pay.
Expected long term effects
Interviews with people with mild dementia and their families shows that it is very difficult to cope in the kitchen without help. Biggest problem is finding equipment when cooking. It is hard to reach the top of the cabinets and then they climb on stools /ladders/chairs with high fall risk as a result. Insecurity in not recognizing equipment, could not recognize the products. The stove is a problem with plates and heat. Workshop with PRO, people with mild dementia, politicians o students: older were very happy to participate and influence the future kitchenware for first time.
Approach and implementation
Disposition: designing questionnaires for interviews, conducting interviews, the design of workshops, implementation, and review of materials. Analysis: The difficulty of working with the LFA method - became difficult to understand. TT method worked better, the Business Model Canvas got deleted -for theoretical and difficult to access. Interviews with people with dementia were performed with flair with high adaptability to how people felt (some have died during the project), this has the participation of relatives was important to conduct interviews.
