Important results from the project

In order to support Swedish competitiveness, this project aimed to develop science parks to become influential and facilitating regional innovation nodes in an effective regional and national innovation system by creating a common toolbox and methods of quality assurance, management system, KPIs, self assessment and peer review as well as explore, develop and evaluate the scope, role and value proposition to find a homogeneous way to describe the processes and practices of the parks. The project has reached its goals and fulfilled its purpose.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in a revised and explicated description of the science park role as system effective regional nodes, its regional and national value proposition, and tools for quality assurance, KPIs, management system, self assessment and peer review to support the continuous development and improvement of their processes and practices. The clarified role and value proposition has led to several new national assignments from the government and regional and national authorities.

Approach and implementation

The project was managed by SISP and built upon the collective learnings and experiences of all participating science parks. The project consisted of three parallel parts; project management and administration; part 1 organizational development and management system for science parks; part 2 science park as central and catalyzing nodes within the innovation support system. Continuous qualitative reviews performed after each peer review round. Quantitative survey to be performed after end report.
