Important results from the project
Requirements for future social security alarms, desirable to be available on the market within a time-frame of 3 to 4 years, have been specified. In the meantime, the project team has come to the conclusion that it is desireable for the continuation to be carried out as an innovation procurement process, rather than a relatively constraint-free innovation contest.
Expected long term effects
The original objectives contained the ambition to describe a contest set-up, while also considering the possible connection to innovation procurement. However, due to the character of the requirements, the project team has realised that the whole thing should be treated as an innovation procurement process, possibly as a so called catalytic procurement.
Approach and implementation
After a first workshop with the project team, additional material and information were collected and a number of identified reference persons were contacted. After analysis of the material, a second workshop was held, at which the requirements were further specified and the ´contest´ set-up was a matter of discussion, resulting in the suggestion of an innovation procurement process for the continuation.
