Important results from the project
The testbed Innovation Akademiska (IA) shorten the time from idea to implemented solution and is focused on medical technology. IA have through reference projects shown that the time is shortened through partnerships between companies and healthcare throughout the development process. IA has also managed 98 collaborations with a special focus on e-health, invitro diagnostic and invasive medical technology. The goal was to establish a permanent organization and this has been achieved together with a supporting business model.
Expected long term effects
Results of the project is that a full-scale testbed for medical technology is established. Processes has been developed and verified in close cooperation with partners, companies and healthcare. Nodes in diabetes, laboratory medicine and community care has been developed and information about the testbed services has been communicated. The infrastructure consist of skills in needs identification, expert evaluation, idea management, contracts, permits, applications, biological materials, usability, clinical evaluation, mini-HTA, procurement and impact analysis.
Approach and implementation
The project has been divided into six work packages, all of which have been implemented largely as planned. Deviations are in terms of the amount of resources needed to establish the test nodes and reference projects have been changed compared those that were identified in the project plan. Development of the testbed through practical projects have been demanding but effective in that process are identified and verified in parallel. Active and committed participation and trust from all stakeholders has been essential. The number of paying projects has been larger than planned.
