Important results from the project

Innovair continues to be a global player with strong collaborations with Brazil, UK & Germany. The industrial partners have delivered IntDemo The understanding of the need for demo programs has increased. Swedish aeronautical research has become an integral part of the Swe innovation system with links to both SARC and ACS. Innovair has shown the need to continue investing in dual-use R&D. A new strategy NRIA Aviation 2024 has been launched with recommendations for how the Swedish aviation research system needs to be developed. Innovair is now also embracing new types of technologies.

Expected long term effects

The above good goal fulfillment indicates that Innovair has a good opportunity to achieve future European intermediate goals 2035 and 2050. Through collaboration across the entire innovation system to create a common strategy (NRIA) and through regular follow-up of the activities, a significantly stronger national innovation system for aeronautics has been created. Long-term effects include increased turnover for industry and an increase in the export share going forward. That is, Sweden can contribute to global challenges both in terms of green transition and societal security

Approach and implementation

Innovair continuously gathers representatives from the entire innovation system (large and small companies, institutes, academia, Armed Forces) to follow up on ongoing activities including both projects, international collaboration and activities of each party. The arrangement has been very successful by ensuring that the parties have an overall picture of the current situation. Innovair´s actors have jointly developed a new strategy for how we will work in the future to achieve the overall goals and also expand the scope of Innovair´s activities to include new technologies.
