Important results from the project
Continued development of the innovation system and calls for NFFP7 and IntDemo. Achieved following goals: Products from 10 innovation chains. Innovair established as global actor. Swedish research incorporated within the innovation system. Demonstrator programs accepted as critical for innovation. Swedish industry obtained over 550 MSEK from H2020. Sweden in bilateral calls with prioritized countries. More than five joint programs with other SIPs. Regional support for national production arenas. Access to critical infrastructure through international programs.
Expected long term effects
The above goal achievement until 2020 indicates that part time goals for2035 and goals for 2050 may realistically be obtained. Overall results indicate that broad cooperation across the entire innovation system to create common strategy and agenda coupled with regular follow up ofactivities has created a substantially stronger innovation system for aeronautics. Long term effects that may realistically be obtained include a doubling of industrial turn over (a factor five for SMEs) and an increase of the export percentage from 70 to 90.
Approach and implementation
Innovair has monthly meetings with representatives from the entire innovation system (large industries, SMEs, institutes, academia, Armed Forces with support agencies, Aerospace Cluster Sweden, and Swedish Aerospace Research Centre) to follow up ongoing activities including projects, international cooperation, and individual partner activities. This has been successful in ensuring that all actors have the samepicture of the present situation. Innovair has also arranged joint visits to our international partners and has established a number of joint bilateral projects.
