Important results from the project
During the course of the project, we have developed a platform that adapts the digital contents in museums an expositions, in order to render it accessible to all visitors regardless of their special needs.
Expected long term effects
Interviews were conducted in order to better understand the needs of visitors and makers of expositions. Different visitor profiles were created as a means of letting visitors choose how they want the contents to be adapted. At the end of the project, the system was tested with members from the targeted user group. The prototype that was developed and tested at the Technical Museum in Stockholm will be further developed and commercialized after the end of project.
Approach and implementation
The interviews conducted during the project gave us valuable information of what is important for visitors to museums, but also about the constraints that makers of expositions have to take into account. Because of this, we have been able to better adapt the technical solution to the market and the needs of visitors. The raging pandemic led to many unforeseen difficulties and delays, in particular concerning test involving members of the targeted user group. These had to be conducted later than planned.
