Important results from the project
The project Incubation and acceleration of small and medium-sized companies in the food chain, has been driven by SISP and Krinova Incubator & Science Park. Through the project, 46 food companies have received funding to investigate their next business idea or to develop an existing one. The project is a government mission from Vinnova that aims to stimulate more commercially viable innovative products and services. The project has also included knowledge meetings for business developers.
Expected long term effects
All results and expected effects have been met. 46 companies were granted verification funds in 2 rounds. The project have a good geographical spread, with granted companies from 12 regions and 44 applying companies linked to Swedish incubators and science parks. Business ideas: beverage 16, primary production 12, ready-made food 10, digital solutions, sales 9 companies. Follow up survey shows that: 42 companies significantly improved product, service or process 31 companies strengthened competitiveness 36 has confirmed customer value 18 will hire within 1 yr + 17 within 2-5 yrs.
Approach and implementation
SISP is responsible for management, communication, finance. Krinova is responsible for preparation and ERFA. Information about the project has been published on the SISP website and in newsletters. Questions from applying companies have been received by telephone and e-mail and these have been answered by SISP. The Podio project tool has been used, which has facilitated an overview of the preparation, expanded data collection and analysis. The digital survey tool Survey Monkey streamlined survey collection. There have been close updates and reports with Vinnova´s administrators
