Important results from the project
The overarching goal has been to contribute to SIP-IoT with a model and structure for ensuring access to adequate IoT testbeds in Sweden. The project has delivered an overview of existing IoT testbeds in Sweden, as well as their offers to clients and customers. As part of the work with the overview the project has contributed with pilot activities in three existing testbed environments: one at Intel IoT Ignition Lab, one at Tyréns and one at MAPCI in collaboration with Sensative AB and My Home Technologies AB. An analysis and recommendations will be presented during 4Q15.
Expected long term effects
The overall effect of the project is expected to be a coordination of IoT testbeds in Sweden in order to promote synergies and common offers, thereby ensuring IoT stakeholders in Sweden access to adequate testbeds for their needs. This will require lowered barriers for introduction of IoT, increased collaboration between IoT stakeholders, as well as increasd knowledge dissemination about the potential of IoT as a driver for change. At this point, however, it is too early to evaluate the direct effects of the project.
Approach and implementation
The project has been managed by SICS Swedish ICT in collaboration with Intel Corporation. The project has been conducted in three partly overlapping phases. * An overview of IoT testbeds in Sweden and their offers to customers and clients. * Pilot activities at three existing testbeds. * An analysis and recommendations with suggestions for a structure and model for a SIP-IoT activity for bridging and further development of existing IoT testbeds. * A workshop with the aim of conducting a SWOT analysis in relation to IoT and digitization of Swedish industry.
