Important results from the project
The purpose and objective of the project was to develop a business and technical concept for how the adaptive roof air deflector could be manufactured, sold and distributed in the aftermarket. The goals have been fulfilled by identifying the value chain with all expected parties and cooperation has been initiated to jointly offer the product to the end customer.
Expected long term effects
For the different sub-objectives, expected results have been achieved. Collaboration has begun with parties to sell the product in the aftermarket, a mechanical prototype has been designed and manufactured for testing on a physical truck with good results. The low friction and design of the mechanism enables a robust product.
Approach and implementation
All four sub-objectives of the project worked according to planning and the results from the sub tasks were as planned. We are convinced that it is because the work packages were clearly defined and measurable in terms of what they would achieve. In addition, input from our partners enabled us to keep our time schedule. The good contacts with the Volvo Truck Center in Gothenburg facilitated the verification of the truck mechanics and the on-site staff could give us valuable feedback from the challenges they have seen in today´s mechanical construction of the trucks.
