Important results from the project

All aims set from the start have been met. Within the framework of the project, a method for cognitive assessment in exhaustion disorder has been developed and refined. The method has been compiled in a manual. The project´s results show that digital cognitive screening is a useful intervention from the perspective of both patients and caregivers. Areas for further development of the method have also been identified, which will form the basis for future projects.

Expected long term effects

The project´s results can serve as a basis to further develop a digital intervention focusing on strengthened brain health in exhaustion disorder. This would lead to increased resource efficiency and utilizing the potential of digitalization to offer the intervention to more individuals. The expected outcome of such an intervention is that people with exhaustion disorder will develop strategies for cognitive recovery that can promote health, function, and work ability.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented as planned. All activities have been carried out according to schedule. The project was conducted by Region Västerbotten and Umeå University, which has contributed to method development and strengthened collaboration between the two organizations. This collaboration will continue after the project has ended. The project has generated new knowledge and ideas for further research and method development that will form the basis for future project applications.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
