Important results from the project
The project aimed at the parties to develop a working method that allows for effective collaboration. This is done by develop a digital solution for construction machines, and gaining a deeper understanding of a construction site. The solution would be tested in a global pilot at the same time as research work would be carried out for a basis for identifying new micro-services. Due to Covid-19, the targets were adjusted as the pilot could not be completed. Instead, the research was applied to a wider scope and the pilot went from being implemented to being planned.
Expected long term effects
The project has contributed to an increased understanding of the working methods of the various parties. The project has delivered a working digital solution that aims to maintain construction machines. An increased understanding of the industry has been gained as well as the identification of new possible micro-services. Due to Covid-19 and a absent pilot, a validated MVP could not be delivered. Instead, a storyboard was delivered for the future digital construction site where micro-services were presented. The global pilot is planned for 2022
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out through close collaboration with Volvo Group. In the development of the digital app, Volvo has been responsible for the development of the backend, while Cetrez One has developed the frontend. The two parts are interdependent, which means natural cooperation. Even in the work of identifying new micro-services, Volvo Group and Humbelbee have worked closely aim to understand each other aim and interest. This required reconciliations and joint design sprints.
