Status Ongoing
Venture The strategic innovation programme for the Internet of Things
Call IoT for innovative societal benefit, Implementation project 2023.

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is to use sensors integrated in work clothes and IoT to prevent strain injuries in healthcare and municipal work, this trough the Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AMM) clinics, occupational health care and vocational teachers in municipal education. The goal is to produce, by further development, implementation and evaluation of the technology, a well-functioning measurement and assessment system to investigate and provide feedback on physical load, both in risk assessments in existing work and in work technique training in an educational context.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to, through an iterative process of technology testing and development, development of training materials as well as evaluation and improvement measures, be able to offer a user-friendly and usable system that measures, analyses and provides feedback on physical workload. The system is intended to be used for risk assessment of workload in existing work and for work technique training in an educational context; it should contribute to an effective identification of unfavorable workload, which with preventive measures can promote equal occupational health.

Planned approach and implementation

The project consists of six work packages (WP): WP0 Project coordination and detailed planning. WP1 Compilation of the possibilities of Smart clothing technology. Development of instructional materials. Training of participants. WP2 Implementation of the technology within AMM, FHV, vocational education. Evaluation in each target group. WP3 Revision of technology, instruction and manual based on the evaluation in WP2. WP4 Implementation of final solution, follow-up within each target group. Further revision. WP5 Dissemination of project results, teaching and reporting.
