Important results from the project
With professional business development and a well-adapted network, we have supported a large number of early companies that can be developed into long-term profitable growth companies that also contribute to socially beneficial growth. Our long-term goal has been to develop our business, in the number of companies we help but also in which areas we operate. The incubator will continue to be a broad incubator but will also be developed with clear cutting-edge areas, which we hope to be able to do soon, among other things. with our investment in Esa Bic but also through new collaborations.
Expected long term effects
With our results-focused program, we have been a clear support for the companies growth journey. Since 2004, a large number (almost 300) companies have developed through Ideon Innovation´s incubator program and companies such as Parkster, Storytel, Bonesupport, Simris Alg, Serstech and Acconeer started their journey in our environment. Companies that have undergone our incubator process has a total turnover (2019) of approx. 3,500,000 (SEK thousand) and they have created over 2,000 jobs.
Approach and implementation
We have continuously recruited a large number of potential growth companies from the local area consisting of one of Sweden´s largest universities and one of Sweden´s leading Science Parks, as well as further developed and run a well-functioning and socially beneficial innovation support business in Lund. Society is facing major changes linked to the climate threat and we see a great need for solutions that work against this. Our focus on climate goals and actively looking for innovations, new types of entrepreneurs, interdisciplinary networks and new models has yielded good results.
