Important results from the project

The focus of the pre-study has been to identify obstacles, strengths, weaknesses and issues within the academic innovation system for a broader understanding of the management of intellactual assets. The feasibility study will result in a proposal for an implementation project that fully or partially develops models, structures and processes for increased clarity in the management of intangible assets as a result of the universities´ research.

Expected long term effects

The pre-study identified a number of obstacles to increase the utilisation of research results: Small and distributed resources and competencies Efficiency in knowledge asset management One-sidedly focused models for commercialization. Three pilot projects in an implementation project: Development of a common model for identification and classification of ideas New ways of commercialization: Focus on licenses and different commercialization tools Incentives and models for operational collaborations between higher education institutions´ innovation systems

Approach and implementation

The feasibility study began with a number of dialogue meetings between the three holding companies that were part of the project group and two digital meetings with participants from SNITT´s SIG-IMP group. This was followed by three workshops together with the universities´ innovation support and the legal function (see below), as well as a broader desk study. Finally, the project group has conducted a number of additional dialogue meetings for synthesis. During the latter part of the feasibility study, the project group also received some conclusions from the IMP project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
