Purpose and goal

The project aims to enhance the reliability and comfort of shared mobility units by developing data-driven models that autonomously monitor and evaluate the vibro-acoustic environment within vehicles. The primary goals are to model vibro-acoustic signature data, classify anomalies based on NVH requirements, and transition from external devices to built-in sensor arrays. The project is expected to start in Q1 2025 and end in Q4 2028.

Expected effects and result

The project aims to improve vehicle safety by detecting issues early, support the transition to Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), and contribute to sustainable urban transportation. The project will also foster collaboration between academia and industry, ensuring robust model development and practical implementation. The expected outcomes include improved vehicle maintenance, passenger comfort, and overall transportation efficiency.

Planned approach and implementation

A real-time monitoring system to autonomously identify abnormal vibro-acoustic patterns during driving will be developed. The methodology involves three main objectives: developing data-driven models to monitor vibro-acoustic content, classifying patterns as normal or abnormal based on NVH requirements, and transitioning from external devices to built-in sensor arrays. The project emphasizes in-vehicle testing to validate the models and aims to enhance vehicle reliability and passenger comfort.
