Important results from the project
The purpose was was to create conditions for a modernized support- and care sector in Pajala to handle increased needs for care efforts with IoT solutions in an extremely sparsely populated area in an arctic climate. A strategy document is produced for future indtroductions of IoT and digital technology within the sector. The knowledge, awareness and usefullness of IoT has increased. That investments in IoT mean savings and carry their own costs is something that has not managed to be accommodated within the framework of the project.
Expected long term effects
A strategy document for the introduction of IoT within the sector has been produced. This is the first version of the document but it needs to be a document that is updated and changed as development progresses and more technology is introduced. The implementation model needs to be general to be applied to different types of digital- and IoT solutions. Communication, education and dissemination are three keywords for successful implementation. The project has increased the population´s awareness of the technical and digital possibilities that exist in healthcare and support.
Approach and implementation
Analysis of previous introduction of technology, current situation and future has been done. Enviromental monitoring, study visits, SKR welfare technology, articles and experience made the foundation of the strategy document that will facilitates the introduction. More technology is needed to provide users with good care. Raising awareness of technology and thus taking steps to modernize the sector and also dissemination of information where welfare technology has been presented to employees, interest associations and politicians has been the biggest parts of the project.
