Important results from the project

The objective of HoPiiA+ was PiiA´s area: Lobbying for designing work programs within Horizon 2020 contributing to increased participation in European cooperation & that Sweden should have a driving role within the EU. HoPiiA + has actively participated in the design of calls for proposals primarily within SPIRE and ICT, through outreach meetings, participation in working groups, events and consultations. HoPiiA + has also provided contacts to create consortia for several applications, two of which are still being evaluated.

Expected long term effects

Remaining effects are the contacts created at both European and national level. What we expect from this is more competitive future applications, as well as continued impact on future programs.

Approach and implementation

The work consists partly of analysis and formulation, and partly of creating and utilizing contacts. The analysis consisted of finding existing calls that suited, examining how existing strategies and calls could be improved, expanded or strengthened to better match our needs, and to identify addressees, meeting places / arenas and decision makers. One basic conclusion is that the process industry´s needs are not an isolated "Swedish" issue, but the advocacy work can only be carried out together with European industry, industry organizations and institutions.
