Important results from the project
In today´s industrial world, short time frames are important to be able to compete. Speeding up the design process and minimizing the need to use real, complex and expensive storage systems during the test and validation steps make the process more efficient. To facilitate development, an optoelectronic prototype device (fibre bearing simulator) was designed and tested. It simulated real-time load sensing signals, a replication of the measurement data that a full-scale system would emit as if produced by its "twin", the load detection system during design and test phases.
Expected long term effects
- A TRL of 3-4 for the developed prototype in this pre-study - A proof-of-concept experiment using recordings of real events from load bearing systems - Commercial and R&D prospects for a fully digitalized optoelectronic solution based on our proposed concept
Approach and implementation
- Developed technical concepts (optical signal generation, software development, data collection) - An optoelectronic unit prototype, using the developed concepts - Test and technical evaluation of the prototype using recordings of real events from load bearing systems - Commercial analysis of its attractiveness among end users in the process industry
