Important results from the project

Our overarching goal at HELIX has been to significantly contribute to scientific knowledge while also providing practical value through applicable workplace research. We have focused on creating knowledge within four research themes: sustainable development in industrial systems, growth in small businesses, sustainable health and welfare processes, and inclusive workplaces. Our objectives have included producing high-quality, practically relevant research, contributing to educational programs, and improving the mobility of individuals with strategic competencies.

Expected long term effects

Since 2017, HELIX has significantly contributed to scientific knowledge and practical value through research in four themes: sustainability, small business development, health/welfare processes, and inclusive workplaces. With 136 articles, 6 dissertations, and additional contributions, we reflect our commitment to theory-practice integration. Our research reaches over 4000 students annually, promoting theoretical and practical workplace applications. HELIX´s impact on academia and the working world demonstrates our leadership role in workplace research.

Approach and implementation

HELIX has developed a successful research model with an interactive and multidisciplinary approach. By concentrating resources, we have created a comprehensive project portfolio aligned with university priorities. Two nodes in Södertälje/Stockholm and Gothenburg/West Sweden expand our support to businesses and public organizations nationwide. Our connection to LiU´s educational programs and successful external funding, along with long-term partnerships with the private and public sectors and civil society, emphasize our societal benefit and relevance.
