Important results from the project
The purpose of the project has been to increase the thermal conductivity of a textile by adding 2D filler into the fibers and investigating the properties of this yarn. The goal of increasing thermal conductivity has been achieved, which can lead to increased performance in the products.
Expected long term effects
Adding function to the technical fibers increases the value and new products will be able to develop. By adding function already in fiber manufacturing step, the textile processing steps will be less compared to applying the function via a coating after textile fabrication.
Approach and implementation
Introducing early experimentation has prompted data to be generated quickly for validation of concepts and ideas. No optimization of compounding has been performed, instead "best practice" has been applied to quickly get to a finished fiber.
