Important results from the project
The aim has been to create a method for macro regional business cooperation around innovative business logics in Digital Business. The development has been continual, resulting in a method for accelerating businesses and educating entrepreneurs. We´ve had two parallell processes: one concerning the business model from a sustainability perspective, and one traditional accelerator model. Together with world leading researchers we´ve created a unique platform for knowledge exchange around innovation for sustainable development.
Expected long term effects
The expected result, a method for macro regional business cooperations aroind innavative business logics in Digital business, has been achieved. The additional goals (1. Sustainable development in the region, 2. increased innovations, 3. User driven development, are also considered achieved through the impact the project has had both for the participating companies and for other actors in the innovation system. The Swedish innovation system sees that Shift can deliver a specialist competence to other actors.
Approach and implementation
The accelerato programme went for 15 weeks. In total we scanned about 50 companies through interviews and research through partners in Sweden, Estonia and Lithuania. 15 teams were chosen to take part in Shift camp and out of them 10 qualified to present during Demo day. The participating team where coached by Shift´s mentor network, based on a model from Santa Clara University´s accelerator programme, where developing the mentors´ skills is central. The cooperation with partners has been very good and enabled a global perspective from day one.
