Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the Green waterproof roofs project has been to help future cities meet the challenges posed by climate change and densification by ensuring that high-quality green roofs that deliver long term ecosystem services become a standard solution in urban development. The overall goal of the project has been that construction according to GTT Step 3 will have a major impact on the work process for green roofs with greatly increased competence among actors and increased social and business benefits on several levels.
Expected long term effects
The project has been about developing, disseminating and implementing new knowledge. Results are presented in a new edition of the Green Roof Handbook published by Svensk byggtjänst, in supplementary support documentation at www.gronatakhandboken.se, in articles in trade press, and in courses, information films, workshops and seminars. The project has increased competence of key players in the value chain and built a consensus on remaining challenges. Through this knowledge platform, it is possible for all parties involved to build green, waterproof roofs of high quality.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has had many partners to ensure broad anchoring and competence. This has been a challenge, especially when contact persons change jobs or their circumstances change. The implementation has been based on a lot of internal work at participating organizations, ie not always clearly linked to work packages and deliverables, which has made it more difficult to maintain commitment. The dissemination of information has been focused on specifically reaching professionals. More focus on broader communication could have benefited the project.
