Important results from the project

The aim of the Green Travel for Employees project, was to enable employees to easily book more sustainable travel modes, because up to now they have faced too many hurdles to do so. Our main objectives were to connect to most rail and public transport providers in Sweden and promote greener travel habits amongst business travellers, through behaviour changing gamification and interactive CO2 emissions reporting. Our current tool delivers on these aims and objectives through our booking and gamification features.

Expected long term effects

The result is a software that delivers a much better user experience to the B2B market. This has been verified by thorough UX tests and interviews. The improved interface is expected to increase the uptake of green travel bookings and help reduce business travel emissions. The gamification features encourage travellers to make greener travel choices, leading to emission reductions and increased environmental awareness. Displaying green transport options on our platform will become a valuable component of mobility as a service (MaaS) in the business sector.

Approach and implementation

Firstly, we implemented search and booking features to access green travel operators across Sweden, directly from our platform. Secondly, we carried out a successful pilot with a large Swedish company and engaged in business development activities with prospective clients. Then, we developed an expense and emissions reporting feature, with actionable insights to cut down emissions. Lastly, we developed a gamification tool to change travel behaviour and conducted user testing to verify it.
