Important results from the project
Gothenburg innovation platform has developed new approaches for innovation in urban development. A model of urban development with its processes and an innovation strategy for The River City are examples of results. During 2015, anchoring occurred within the city administration for implementation and integration of the city´s FOI policy. Line managers and project managers have been interviewed and in innovation labs have project ideas been developed of which a number of them have been implemented in the River City. The project has been made international and national visible.
Expected long term effects
The innovation strategy is politically anchored and will work with the tools and parameters that are needed to ensure that innovative products, services, working methods and business models in urban development will be able to be implemented. The work shall take effect on the sustainability and growth promotion and export development for the entire city, nationally and internationally, and strengthen the competitiveness and attractiveness. Inventories of demonstration projects, methods and idea concept are developed, several of which have moved on to implementation phase.
Approach and implementation
The project has led to the players who participated have collaborated more closely, through the development of activities and structure. A crosstalk of ongoing activities has increased and new partnerships have been launched. Collaboration with industry in Gothenburg platform work has been wide but it has been difficult to involve the two companies were formally involved in the work with concrete tasks. It could be in this case, better to have a wider entrance to the company, for example, through the Science Parks and / or via the actors involved in Älvstadens development.
