Important results from the project
The purpose of the project is to, through a feasibility study together with prospective customer VOLVO Construction Equipment, explore the sustainability and customer value of the business development offer "Outside in innovation" for multinational companies. There is a clear value in working with external actors to drive a company´s innovation capacity, accelerate R & D, counter disruptions to the company and its industry, and strengthen its brand for employee purposes. Existing best practice processes from other industries are applicable with company-specific adaptations.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project is that Outside in innovation by activating external networks is seen as a good complement to the existing innovation model for VCE. There are direct values within nearby networks that can benefit the company through the application of company-adapted innovation processes
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out through a number of collaborative sessions where the work was based on Best practice of Outside in innovation work is carried out in Industry and related industries, from which a baseline and a GAP analysis were created which resulted in the proposals that were developed. The work process was appreciated and the result is clear.
