Project duration | May 2012 - March 2015 |
Status | Completed |
Important results from the project
The established purpose and goal have been fulfilled and even exceeded with regard to the targeted product, which initially was meant for bio fuelled pellet heaters and district heating plants.
Expected long term effects
The resulting product exceeds the target product by managing also installation in diesel engines with their higher demands on temperature and mechanical robustness and therefore will facilitate supplies to SenSiC´s all target markets. It also offers a significantly reduced production cost.
Approach and implementation
The initial time schedule of 6 months resulted in 34 months i.e. +28 månader out of which - 18 months due to an extra round of wafer/chips - 6 months to solve the flip-chip-assembly method - 4 months to find a supplier of high temperature ceramic parts. Certain production technologies needs to be found outside of Sweden and in specific when entering into high volume production.
