Important results from the project
The project had 3 goals: 1. To clearly identify the potential for deployment of GaPS in this sector. 2. To adapt a toolset (ProtoWorld) to the standards in the industry to provide low hanging fruit for first deployment of GaPS. 3. To build up knowledge about GaPS in the industry.
Expected long term effects
Top priorities identified: a. Training of project managers and professionals in complex interactions using games as simulations. b. Interaction between (urban) stakeholders and project managers to create communication and insights about the stages of the building process, based upon visualisations that follow from a digital design process. c. Experimentation with modernisation of the internal organisation of construction companies and government administrations through immersion of key employees in a data driven environment that opens for experimentation with roles.
Approach and implementation
Concluding, all goals have been fulfilled, though it is clear that the urgency is not yet experienced by the industry, nor is the data stream ready. It is therefore advisable to postpone GaPS investments until digitalisation and understanding complexity has been furthered.
