Important results from the project
The objectives of the project was to explore new technology occupations and areas based upon young girls passion. Outcome from two events with girls aged 13-19 formed a rich foundation from which a reference group could base a discussion regarding future technology occupations and educations. Occupations and educations that better fit young girls needs.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project are except from the important discussion with young girls and representatives from different educational institutions, a set of movies that capture future home and interior based upon a couple of future scenarios and a couple of future educations. Through the project educational institutions engaged in the discussion of how technology educations need to adopt to actually fit the interests of young girls. The representatives have brought the discussion back to their institutions.
Approach and implementation
The set-up of the project consisted of a set of activities that served its purpose well. The activities resulted in a rich material that was captured in different ways. We added the reference group workshop in order to engage decisions makers in the topic. Though various channels and close contact with schools we found it very challenging to recruit young girls to one of the event.
