Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The VA industry is facing major changes when digitization is now seriously making its way in. The purpose of Future City Water focuses on our most important food, drinking water. In the future, we must have access to a smart drinking water pipeline network from source to end customer with safe and efficient delivery of high quality drinking water. System-wide planning will be based on data-driven decisions. In the project, we have developed everything from the detection of algal blooms and oil spills in wells to applications for end users.
Expected long term effects
Results in the various test zones are already sufficiently developed to be used and are already being utilized in the operations. Through active communication, the project has also become well known, which is illustrated by the increasing number of followers on the project´s LinkedIn page. Knowledge exchange with the energy sector has deepened during the project, which has led to a deeper understanding of how each industry works. The project has contributed to increased digital maturity, which has enabled deepened cooperation between VA and energy for energy optimization.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has been implemented in three overarching work packages with project management, strategic analysis and system transformation, two development zones with a focus on data infrastructure and decision support systems, and four test zones with user-friendly pilot tests. The implementation has worked well and all parts of the project have broadly followed the plan and essentially achieved the set objective. There is now a solid knowledge base for system transformation which will be further developed and tested in future steps.
