Important results from the project

The project fulfilled its objective by creating future scenarios, building networks and awakening new perspectives on sustainable lifestyles. Through workshops, a future map and a future festival, the neighborhood of the future was shaped both as a concept and a prototype. The participants were engaged in the transition and the project showed how local initiatives can contribute to a good life with fewer resources and greater community.

Expected long term effects

The project has laid the foundation for future approaches to sustainable urban development. The concepts and the map serve as tools for local engagement and transformation in practice. The two hubs will continue to act as test beds for circular and social innovations. The project has focused on behavioral changes, new collaborations, and a broader understanding of the good life as local, shared, and sustainable.

Approach and implementation

The project designed the neighborhood of the future based on workshops with residents, system owners and students. Each workshop built on the results of the previous one, which made the result broad and complex. The final product, a printed map with an associated timeline of key events, aroused curiosity and dialogue. The future party, which became an interactive time travel in the respective area, showed that the transition is already in full swing and the future is not as far away as we think.
