Purpose and goal

The purpose with our learning network was to learn from each other and from research, and test models, suggestions and approaches that can aid innovative development in complex health care organizations, in this case two health care regions. The participating strategic level managers and support functions had by the end of the project applied learnings in strategic development in their work with local development areas and planned for future organizational development and regional collaboration all in line with the project goals.

Expected effects and result

In the region of Norrbotten participants focused on an analysis of existing strategies,if or how they supported development, and on the implementation of care processes. In Västerbotten insights from workshops were related to existing structures and processes. An improved way of working with value based care and the spread of the approach was tested. In both regions participants started and planned for strategic development and collaborations all which may increase the abilities to create more development friendly health care organizations.

Planned approach and implementation

Network meetings took the form of five interactive workshops in various locations, Umeå, Luleå, and Stockholm. The forms varied and were adapted to current situations and needs. Local meetings when participants worked with chosen regional development areas took place between workshops, sometimes supported by researchers. At the last workshop both regional groups presented models and maps over their local work, views on important aspects of development and their plans for future development.
