Important results from the project

We fulfilled the purpose and goal by further developing the material production of Formill through tests and process optimization. Through collaborations with need owners, we developed products in Formill and tested their functionality. This can ultimately contribute to increasing the added value of biomass and thus lays the foundation for further development towards a biobased society.

Expected long term effects

The project´s ambition was to establish access to Formill and a manufacturing chain with production processes and training. Changed circumstances made the ambition too extensive, but a design and production manual has been developed and tested with Formillators. The stakeholders have seen the potential in Formill and gained a better understanding of product development. Further steps are required to sell products, but the project has promoted cross-border collaboration between industries.

Approach and implementation

The project has been divided into different work packages, which have been adjusted over time due to changing conditions. One factor has been the change in the ingredients of the waste material. At the same time, the time that has passed has led to new unexpected solutions and unexpected collaborations that have been positive for the development of the project. We have been able to take paths that we did not know existed when the project started.
