Important results from the project
Our society today faces many social challenges as a cosequences from growing segregation. Actors from the private and public sector, civil society and academia must become better at working with social sustainability based on the needs and conditions of different places. Den Sociala Vävens´s mission is to break socially unsustainable development patterns by contributing in 10 years to at least 100 neighborhoods becoming socially sustainable with the help of social investments and new forms of cooperation.
Expected long term effects
The Social Fabriqs mission is to break socially unsustainable development patterns by contributing in 10 years to at least 100 neighborhoods becoming socially sustainable with the help of social investments and new forms of cooperation. This presupposes the development of new ways of measuring the social impact of investments(KPIs), the development of new business models, changes to policies and regulations as well as the development of new forms of location-based collaboration between the private and public sectors, civil society and academia.
Approach and implementation
During the spring, a coalition process was carried out to mobilize interested actors. Over 50 actors from the private and public sector, civil society and academia participated here. The purpose was to explore the driving forces and reasons behind segregation and to formulate proposals for missions and activities that could be part of a program office. All material was documented. A survey to property owners, the content of which was also used as a basis in proposal. After the summer, a proposal for a program office was written based on the spring´s work.
