Venture A new recipe for the food system - build-up phase
Call A new recipe for the food system - building innovation platforms for a sustainable food system

Important results from the project

We have established an innovation platform that brings together key actors and mobilizes civil society to strengthen local food security and contribute to interconnected sustainable local circular food systems. Through collaborations with FOR, popular education actors, the core team´s 200 own associations, civil society actors, public and private actors, we have mapped, analyzed, developed and tested solutions that promote civil society innovations and contribute to the emergence of local food systems.

Expected long term effects

The project will strengthen Sweden´s food security by promoting the emergence of local, circular food systems with proximity between producer and consumer. The innovation platform will mobilize civil society, increase knowledge and engagement around sustainable food production and create new collaborations and promote innovations. The result will be more prosumers, stronger local networks and increased ability to manage crises and build a resilient food system with a focus on togetherness.

Approach and implementation

We gathered committed actors in an innovation platform, created a common direction and built a strong organization. By mapping knowledge, actors, relationships, flows, obstacles & opportunities, a common problem formulation, system map, actor mapping, gap analysis and plan for internationalization as well as several test projects were created to strengthen Sweden´s food security and contribute to the emergence of local circular sustainable food systems with increased diversity.
