Important results from the project
The project aims to explore opportunities for syncriniserad coupled simulation of both fluid and structural simulation of a turning operation with high-pressure cooling. Is it possible to capture the physics involved in this type of lathe operation by simultaneously connecting projections from both FEM and CFD software in a simplified 2-dimensional model
Expected long term effects
Identify limitations of both soft and hardware specifications. How do one set up the communication between simulation softwares. How is the boundary condictions described so it can used of both soft ware at the same time. Memory management in the calculation, is both one and two-way communication possible to perform simultaneously. Finally, it is possible to capture the physics of this cutting process by using coupled simulations
Approach and implementation
Investigate what software is possible to get to komunicate with each other and can simulate their part of the problem. Start with very simple case, then keep increasing the models complexity.
