Venture Social sustainability in the physical environment
Call Social sustainability in the physical environment

Purpose and goal

The aim is to gain increased knowledge about local needs and to collaborate with residents in order to develop work tools for inclusion of social values in the physical environment in the regional city core Flemingsberg. The goal is to gain an increased understanding of what the place needs to develop in line with the already existing surroundings and to be able to increase the residents feelings of belonging, community and interest in the place (Flemingsbergsdalen).

Expected effects and result

Expected effects in the long term are reduced physical and social barriers in Flemingsberg through residents increased interest in and understandning of the areas urban development, enchanced movement patterns as well as an increased sense of belonging to the place. The project contributes to knowledge about inclusion and how we can activate places based on local involvement, which is important partly during the construction period but also as part of permanent solutions. We can gain valuable knowledge that provides the conditions for continued planning of the regional city core.

Planned approach and implementation

We analyze already completed citizen dialogues and with them as a starting point, we continue the conversations based upon a new approach to inclusion (with inspiration from, among other things, the Make Shift concept). By involving, for example, local abilities in the process, a place or activity is created that is based upon local ideas and needs. Our expectation is that the place / activity will create interest in the development of Flemingsberg and Flemingsbergsdalen with changed movement patterns in the whole area and an increased sense of inclusion among the residents.
