Important results from the project
The project aims to be a major step forward towards zero carbon footprints from the wood manufacturing systems and processes, drastically reducing total lifecycle environmental impacts. It will demonstrate how a kiln drying feedback control system, in economic terms, reduces the total lifecycle costs by 20 % compared to conventional sawmills by increased energy efficiency and improved use of resources and how new cooperation along the forest-wood chain can further reduce global energy demand.
