Important results from the project

The set objective was achieved by delivering a market analysis that describes the potential and conditions for opening new digital market channels, functional requirements and a description of a feasible technical solution as well as a basis for a proposal for an implementation project. Examples of other benefits: targeted communication with visitors, basis for traffic planning and “ticket pools” for organizers. Contacts have been established with interested parties for an implementation project

Expected long term effects

A national platform for simpler and more cost-effective sales and distribution of public transport tickets leads to increased sustainable travel. Public transport authorities can reach more passengers and lower their costs for ticket distribution in certain existing channels. The ability to obtain the right ticket and to purchase everything in one place also enhances the customer experience, and being able to offer sustainable journeys strengthens the brand for the reseller.

Approach and implementation

The preliminary study mapped reseller needs through interviews, meetings, and surveys, and developed solution concepts via needs analysis, standards identification, architecture outlining, and API functionality definition. Work meetings with project partners defined the market, product offerings, delimitations, and the connection to the Samtrafiken´s ongoing NÅP project, as well as interpreting interview and development results.
