Important results from the project
The main purpose of the project is to evaluate the feasibility of our innovative distributed sensor solution for an ABB application. We conducted a successful feasibility study funded by ICT. In this study we evaluated the intended method on an ABB motor. The study showed great potential for the method and the proposed sensor configuration.
Expected long term effects
The most important effect, in addition to the completed feasibility study and the submitted project proposal to Horizon 2020 together with 7 universities and several other companies, is the increased collaboration and dialogue between industry and academia. This effect is visible and easily observed at both ABB and KTH.
Approach and implementation
As an adjunct professor, I spend one day a week at dep. of Vehicle Engineering at KTH. The received support from Vinnova helped me to manage this in the best possible way. I have participated in the teaching/ education program and also formulated new course elements and exercises with clear industrial application theme. I have also had an impact on identifying new relevant research areas and research issues at the department.
