Important results from the project

The project´s aim and objective have been fulfilled by changing one of Electrolux´s production lines to be able to produce face masks for the needs that exist during the Corona crisis. Face masks have been developed and evaluated for user-friendliness and comfort by healthcare personnel, tested according to current standards and approved according to EU regulations. Approximately one million face masks have been produced so far.

Expected long term effects

The result of the project has fallen out according to the project plan. We have been able to change one of Electrolux’s production lines for the manufacture of face masks. They received good reviews from heal care personnel when evaluating user-friendliness and comfort. The face masks passed testing to current standards and is now in production and sales.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out according to the project plan. Electrolux changed its production line for the manufacture of face masks. In two rounds, the face masks were evaluated for user-friendliness and comfort by health care personnel at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm for optimization of production. RISE tested the face masks according to current standards and the face masks could finally be approved according to EU regulations. Thereafter, the face masks have been produced for sale.
