Important results from the project
The aim of this project is to increase interest for innovation amongst young women. With the passion for fashion as a starting point, these young women will develop brand new areas of technology and professions. The goal is that we may after the event be able to present at least three proposals for new areas of technology or potential professions based on young women´s passion for fashion. These ideas can for example, be further developed through existing or with new education concepts. During #FashionTechGBG, the girls created a series of ideas connected to new technology areas.
Expected long term effects
During #FashionTechGBG the girls created a series of new ideas connected to fashion and technology. This event created an opportunity for the girls to be innovative and they showed a pride for the ideas they created. The speakers were inspiring and showed that an idea could lead to much larger possibilities and that there is a need for innovative thinking within this arena. Through these findings we see that #FashionTechGBG can be further developed by becoming an event that is organized in socio-economically vulnerable areas, thus reaching out to a target group that is hard to reach today.
Approach and implementation
The project started off by meeting with the target group. By using the information that came up within this meeting we found a venue, inspirational speakers and a method for our workshop. The target group recommended Instagram as the most efficient channel for publication therefor we preceded with it as our communication tool of choice. The event started with three different inspirational speakers then proceeded to group workshops where the girls were able to develop ideas related to the subject. Finally the girls pitched their ideas through iMovie.
